I just bought my TomTomGo this morning and procceded to register it online but cant find any sign of a reg number on any paper work..the only paper that resembles what is show on the reg page is a white/green bordered card with multi-languages on it saying Thank you for purchasing Tom Tom Go etc etc to register online at www.tomtom.com/register...
anyone got any ideas where the reg code should be...apart from that bit of card and the manual oh and a quick guide to get working is all there is
Thanks in Advance Ricky..

To register I tried using the on line registration and entered the code number shown on the "thank you for purchasing tom tom go" card. The registration failed as the code was invalid. I suspect Tom Tom may have given up on this registartion method. I manually registered by emailing Tom Tom Customer support.

If you need to activate your Tom Tom then the following applies and this has nothing to do with registration.

There are two numbers needed to activate the TTG. One is the product code which is written on the back of the software CD envelope. The other is the devicw code which can be found on the TTG by going to the "change preferences" menu and selecting "about tom tom go".

The product code is in the following format: XXXXX XXXXX XXXXX
The device code is in this format : XXXXX XXXXX

There should be a black and white label stuck on the envelope that your CD came in.

It says on it "...Warning. The product code is important. It is your personal key: keep it secret and store it in a safe place." Then below it is the product code - XXXXX XXXXX XXXXX.

The product code is what you need when you register your TTG.
You enter the product code.
TTG gives you a DeviceCode.
You enter that in your TTG and it produces the Activation Code.

Don't panic..... there is a little confusion here....

When you buy your TTG it is "pre-activated" and you just charge it and use it :-)

If you install the software from the supplied CD onto a new (bigger) SD card then you need to activate the software (copy protection) as pushandpull has detailed. This is ACTIVATION and not registration.

Registration just puts your TTG on Tom Toms data base so they can offer you updates and support. I recommend you register manually via their web site.

My code was on the green and white card that asks you to register. It is different to the Product code on the CD and different to the TTG serial number. xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

Having read the various posts I would imagine that the 'Green and White' card has, over recent months, been supplied in various formats - most likely due to different offers from TomTom ie. my green and white card had the registration number printed in a white box with black outline (not stuck). The card also had a printed offer of a free fascia (which I'm still waiting for TomTom, 10 weeks on).

I know others in the early days were offered free cases - whether that was actually an 'offer' or because the case at the time was unavailable I don't know. But their registration card would definitely have been different to mine.

No GO goes like a TomTom GO goes!
