Hard reset Qtek 8020

Posted: 11:41 20 Apr 05 #1
Hi, can someone please explain me how to make a total reset of this device ?
I do not have the user's manual. I found in a forum the indication to press both softkeys + power button but it doesn't work for me. Perhaps i'm performing this action incorrectly.
Thanks.

Turn off your phone, power it on and hold both soft keys until you are being prompted to press 0 (zero) to hard reset the phone.

A hard reset deletes all user data in the memory and restores factory settings. Basically, you'll end up with the phone thinking it came straight from the factory. Usefull if you've screwed things up and want a clean start. :)

Procedure clarification:
1. Power off the phone.
2. Hold down both softkeys (the black ones on the front with the little white stripe).
3. While holding down the softkeys press very shortly on the powerbutton (less than a second). It takes a short while for something to happen, don't release the softkeys.
4. The screen will instruct you to press 0 to continue. You may release the softkeys before pressing 0.
5. Follow the on screen instructions. The phone will complete a normal startup seqence and then ask you to press a button to finalize the reset.

Cheers

Hello there,
The explanation for a hard reset is one that even I as a soft- and hardware illiterate can understand. I was told by someone who is helping me sort out active sync problems with apple to "soft reset" my phone but the manual says nothing about that. Might you know how to do this, too?

Cheers

A "soft reset" is as simple as a reboot of your phone i.e. restart it.

Hi, I really hope you get some sort of notification on my reply, because I could really use some help!

The hard reset doesn't seem to work on my Qtek 8020. When I press the power button, am I supposed to turn on the phone, or does the "press-0-menu" come up earlier?

And I don't suppose the SIM-card is to sit in the phone during the reset (?)

Please reply.

Thanks.

Oh, and how long does it take before the instructions appear?
