Tesco mobile MMS and GPRS wap setting step by step instructions

 I have spent the last 48hrs working out the setting for my girlfriends 7280. As you may be aware the settings are different from the standard way you might expect from a nokia phone. Nokia website which sends down setting to your phone does not cover Tesco mobile as this phone was never realeased on there network so this setup has to be done manually.


GPRS WEB SETTING FOR TESCO MOBILE

From the Main Menu, select Settings. Then select Configuration settings.
Select Personal configuration settings and press on Options and select Add New and then select Web.
Key in the following:·

Account Name: tesco wap
Homepage: http://wap.tesco-mobile.com/
Username: (leave blank)
Password: (leave blank)
Access point settings: press: select
Proxy: Enable
Proxy address: 193.113.200.195
Proxy Port: 8080
Data Bearer: GPRS
Bearer Settings: press: select
GPRS access point: prepay.tesco-mobile.com
Authentication type: normal
Username: tescowap
Password: password (you will have to enter this twice to confirm)·
Press back 3 times Then activate by selecting tesco wap and press the Options button and select Activate.
Then go back to Configuration settings and select Default configuration settings.
Select personal config. and then press Options as select Set as default.

Ensure this setting being activated. Then go to Services from the Main Menu and select Home. You will be connected to Tesco’s GPRS website.




TESCO MOBILE MMS SETTINGS


From the Main Menu, select Settings. Then select Configuration settings.
Select Personal configuration settings and press on Options and select Add New and then select Multimedia message.
Key in the following:
Account Name: tesco mms
Server address http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
Access point settings: press: select
Proxy: Enable
Proxy address: 193.113.200.195
Proxy Port: 8080
Bearer Settings: press: select
Data Bearer: GPRS
GPRS access point: prepay.tesco-mobile.com
Authentication type: normal
Username: tescowap
Password: password (you will have to input this twice to confirm)·
Press back 3 times Then activate Tesco MMS setting by pressing Options button and select Activate.
Then go back to Configuration settings and select Default configuration settings.
Select Personal config and press on Options and select Set as default.
Then go back to Messages menu, select Message settings and then multimedia msgs.
Select Configuration settings and the setting will show the following:
Configuration: Personal config
Account : Tesco MMS
To ensure this setting has been activated, go to Messages and select Create message.
Then select Multimedia msgs.
And then send yourSelf a message.
