E900 Firmware Versions

Posted: 23:15 26 Jul 06 #1
I'd like to know all the different firmware versions out there.
Could everyone just type *#1234# and post their firmware version.

I'll start it off with mine:
E900DXFF7 -> E900XEFG2 :D

So far we have:
E900DXFF7
E900XXFF2
E900XXFE2
E900ACFE2
E900XXFG1
E900XEFG2
E900XXFF3
E900CPFF2

Please post if you have a different firmware, that hasnt been mentioned before.

Hello, Can you say to me of which place you are in order to define in what correspond the letters in the name of the firmware. For example, in France, it is E900XXFF3, and we think that the “XX” corresponds to France, Russia that would be “XE”… Those which have the E900DXFF7, can you say to me if there is the French in language??? Thank you by advance.

First i have E900XXFF2 and now i Flash my phone And i have E900XXFF3 ;)
I know the E900XEFG2 has more fonction than ours but it isnot in french...
we can upload java games, have Song+Vbration in the same time ect...

I recommend making a backup of the phone's contents before you flash the firmware, just in case.

You will need:

- Optiflash for E900 (found here - http://rapidshare.de/files/23872628/Downloader.zip.html )
- A firmware upgrade
- The original samsung USB cable that came with the phone

Procedure:

Launch Optiflash and click on 'Options > Settings > Generic'
- Select 'Customer T: D830/D840/E900 (USB)'
- Set 'Flash Erase Passes' to '1'
- Set 'Operation Passes' to 'Default'
- Uncheck all checkboxes except 'Differences only'

Select the tab 'Flash and Verify'
- Browse to and select your firmware (*.s3)

Select the tab 'Default Contents'
If you have a file *.cts with the firmware *.s3:
- Select radio button “S-Record with content”
- Browse to and select your *.cts file

If you do not have the file *.cts:
- Click on 'S-Record only'

- Click 'OK'

- Remove your SIM and microSD card from the phone and turn it off.

- Connect the phone to the computer via the USB cable.

- Whilst holding down the * key on the phone, briefly press the ON/OFF button.

Your computer will recognise the device as Samsung USB Mobile.

Return to Optiflash, Click on 'Options > Settings > COM Port'
- Select the COM port your phone uses (If you're not sure, you can find out by: Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Ports (COM and LTP))
- Select 921600.
- In Second COM Port select 'NONE'

- Click 'OK'

Lastly, click 'Flash'

The flash procedure will be finished when the message 'All is Well' appears above the green progression bar.

A full reset should not be necessary once the firmware is upgraded, however, if you want to do it: Type *2767*3855# then wait one full minute before you restart your phone.

To check your existing firmware type *#1234# into your handset

Time to flash: approx 15 mins.

** NOTE: IF YOUR PHONE RESTARTS IN A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE, DON'T PANIC! THE LANGUAGE SELECTION PROCESS IS:

MENU (left touch button) > SETTINGS (bottom right icon) > PHONE SETTINGS (2nd option) > LANGUAGE (1st option)

i have E900XXFF2
are there any chances in the newer firmware E900XXFF3 or is it not worth it to flash
thx

Flash to the russian firmware. It is worth it, I have tested the java installation direct from the phone as well as the vib+ring at the same time.

Bhwarrior, maybe now we can make a thread with fully compatable games / apps? e.g. full screen working ones?
Posted: 22:41 31 Jul 06 #18
Sure, I'll start one now and soon we'll create a .rar file with all the compatible games.
