"Needed" the correct time
Having built a Nixie clock, very old school displays with a very modern control system, was a little disappointed, but not surprised, that using its own crystal controlled time base the clock consistently gained slightly. Two choices - either regularly reset the clock or fit a suitable GPS Receiver to the socket provided on the clock. The BR-355 matched the required spec for the receiver, including a PS2 plug (conversion cables to other socket types are available) and was an excellent price from Expansys. After a few days use and many, many checks against "the Pips", BT Time, the PC Internet and a Radio Signal clock am very happy that the unit is providing instantly an excellent time signal for the clock. I have no doubt the small, neat well packaged unit would give the same quality of positional performance output - its primary function.
