HTC Wildfire Android Smartphone Features

The HTC Wildfire is the smaller version of the hugely popular HTC Desire - it runs the same version of Google Android so you get all the same functions at a lower price. The screen has a web browser comparable to the iPhone, and you get 7 home screens to place your favourite widgets to Facebook, Email and more!

Features you'll love:

  • Runs Android 2.1 so includes an Exchange mail program
  • 5MP Camera includes a flash
  • Smaller than the HTC Desire
  • A great selection of widgets to personalise and perfect your device

press reviews:

CNET: The HTC Wildfire doesn't skimp on smart-phone features, offering some of the best social-network integration that money can buy. There's really nothing about this handset that screams 'cheap phone' except the low-res screen.

18 June 2010

Tech Radar: It's heartening to see HTC getting a low-cost handset so right and, although there were niggles, we're convinced that the HTC Wildfire is one of the best mid-range Android phones around.

29 June 2010

T3: The Wildfire sets the standard for affordable phones across the board.

What we say:

If you like the HTC Desire & Legend, but not the price, the HTC Wildfire is perfect. Giving up the swish aluminum body and hi-resolution display means the HTC have been able to trim the price on the Wildfire. Despite the price, you still get all the same same features of the more expensive devices, everything from SENSE UI, through to the 5 MP camera.

Manufacture's description

Uniquely You:
The HTC Wildfire is designed around you. A huge selection of widgets (tiny single use apps) bring live content directly to your home screen for you to enjoy. Everything from email, weather and news, through to your favorite comics, or even updates on what your friends are doing through FaceBook & Twitter. There is even an online widget library to help you get more, so no matter what takes your fancy, there is a widget for it.

Always In-Touch:
HTC Wildfire helps you stay connected with those who are most important to you through HTC Sense, an experience focused on putting people at the center by making phones work in a more simple and natural way. You won't miss out on the fun as HTC's Friend Stream application seamlessly gathers and displays content from social networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr into one organized stream of updates. HTC Wildfire enables you to stay up to date with your friends' posts, comments, alerts and photos, wherever you are.

Keep Connected:
Always know what your friends are up to, even before you call. Your address book on the HTC Wildfire includes a thread of recent communications with that person, including when you last spoke, recent text messages and emails, and social network updates. When your friend calls, HTC Caller ID displays their Facebook profile photo and latest update, as well as a reminder if their birthday is fast approaching.

Apps:
Built on the clever Google Android OS, the HTC Wildfire comes complete with all the Google services you love. Discover new places and find your way with Google Maps, message with friends with Google Talk, or collect your emails with Gmail. Being powered by Android means you also get access to thousands of apps via the Android Market. Find almost anything from shopping apps to find the best price, through to clever travel apps, and games to pass the time. Discovered a cool app? Thanks to a new app sharing widget, HTC Wildfire enables you to recommend an application by email, text message or over social networks. Your friends will receive a link allowing them to find the application on the Android Market with a single click and download it to their phone.

Discover the Unexpected
The HTC Wildfire is loaded with hidden little design touches that are sure to delight you. Like the ringer that knows when it has been heard. The ringer volume politely lowers when the G-sensor on your phone detects that the phone has been picked up, and it completely silences when you flip the phone upside down.

I Lost My HTC Wildfire

The Phone is really a cool one it was having lot of features and some of the disadvantages like Screen Resolution, Camera Image Quality and HTC Sense. The HTC Sense Portal does not support the wildfire model tough it was having all the sense features. HTC Sense Portal Provides services like remote data wipe off, lost mobile tracking and others. For example Consider my case i lost my HTC wildfire one month before i dont have any option to recover my mobile back and no support from HTC to trace my mobile back... Other than this disadvantages this wildfire is value for money...
