I recently used this phone for the first time on a big overseas trip. It functioned perfectly and I took pictures, movies, voice files, sent files, browsed the web, typed emails. I used almost every feature. Battery life is 24 hours with moderate usage. I can see the front screen in the sun. Also, it has very loud speakers - which I need for noisy environments. There are still many features I have not used yet e.g. the GPS because I don't have maps yet. I studied all the latest phones and read many reviews before buying this one. It is the best.
The Symbian software (which does not have a touch screen or stylus) is optimsied more for single handed use. The Nokia people have got it right - they are a professional group of experts.
Note that I had a Palm Treo 680 which droppe three months ago. Then I did have a Tytn II by HTC but found that the screen was hard to see in the sun and the phone wobbled when I used the keyboard. Also, as I got more software on it then it seemed to freeze up from time to time, usually when I wanted to use the phone and it was looking for a lan network (I think). So the Windows software was taking priority over the phone function. I did love the Tytn II which is good value, but the Nokia E90 beats it. Spend the extra $150, get the Nokia.... More

8.4 out of 10. "Solid build quality; numeric keypad in addition to a QWERTY keyboard; Wi-Fi, HSDPA, GPS and Bluetooth stereo; large 800 x 352-pixel screen; supports various messaging clients including BlackBerry Connect; fast processor."
The E90 is Nokia’s latest Communicator phone and it follows in the footsteps of its predecessors in two ways. Firstly, it’s huge and heavy, and secondly, it looks like a normal phone on the outside, but opens up to reveal a full keyboard and large screen.
It's hard to believe but it's been 10 years since the first Nokia Communicator was announced in 1997. The E90 is the eleventh Communicator model, following the 9000, 9000i, 9110, 9110i, 9210, 9210i, 9290, 9500, 9300 and 9300i.
The Nokia E90 is a monster. It is to smartphones what monster trucks are to your dad's pickup - it eats them for breakfast. It's a monster in terms of bulk as well as mobile computing power. But if you can tame this beast, it can do many things for you. Find out more in our in-depth review.

What does The Guide recommend as the best smartphone? Overall, the iPhone’s genuinely revolutionary user interface and peerless industrial design secure its place at the top of our list, but its monumental abilities, fantastic build quality and its place in smart phone lore, mean that the latest ‘brick’ from Nokia is still very hard to resist. We use both.
