Samsung GALAXY S III

The good: The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes fully loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 4G LTE/HSPA 42 capability, a zippy dual-core processor, and a strong 8-megapixel camera. S Beam is an excellent software enhancement, and the handset's price is right. The bad: The Galaxy S3's screen is too dim, and Samsung's Siri competitor, S Voice, disappointed. The bottom line: Pumped with high-performing hardware and creative software features, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is an excellent, top-end phone that's neck and neck with the HTC One X. Editors' Top Picks With the Samsung Galaxy S III (S3), Samsung has done it again. For the third consecutive year, its flagship Galaxy phone is a tidy package of top-flight specs, approachable design, steady performance, and compelling pricing. Starting its U.S. sales debut with five carriers -- Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular -- makes this smartphone nearly ubiquitous. Samsung's aggressive distribution strategy gives it a leg up against its chief Android rival, the HTC One X, but it fails to sweep HTC's finest, and Apple fans will scoff at Samsung's imitation Siri. That isn't to say that the Galaxy S III (henceforth also known as the GS3) does not impress. From the outside in, it has a large, vibrant HD display; Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich; a sharp 8-megapixel camera; 4G LTE or HSPA support; a zippy dual-core processor; and tons of internal memory and 2GB RAM. The $199.99 price tag for the 16GB version is highly competitive, and that, along with its carrier spread, makes the GS3 priced to sell. Some have slammed Samsung for formulaic specs and design, and to some extent, the critics are correct. Samsung isn't setting hardware standards with new creations, and the GS3's software additions, while interesting and useful, mostly build off existing Android capabilities. Regardless, Samsung has continued to produce stronger subsequent models than its first Galaxy S home run. There's a reason why the Galaxy S II sold over 50 million units worldwide, and why the GS3's preorder sales smashed U.K. records. Samsung clearly has its formula worked out for making higher-end features familiar, expected, and easily within reach -- and in the all-around excellent Galaxy S3, it shows.

In a nutshell, what you need to know.

http://www.expansys.ie/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-16gb-black-238563/ The Samsung Galaxy 3, what a phone, well worth the money with endless options for making it YOUR phone. In short, no sugar coating it...If your into customization and modding, then this is the phone for you. If your new to the Android world or not you`ll know that you`ll have to do a fair bit of reading, if you want to understand Android and this phone, this is where you get your moneys worth. The amount of customization you can do to this phone is exstensive, as long as you do your research before you try anything. The pro`s. The camera: This is by far the best part of the phone, the quality is amazing. Supporting a SUPER AMOLED HD SCREEN, along with it`s 8MP 3264x2448 pixels filled screen, your getting amazing quality for your pictures and video`s. It`s LED flash and autofocus is great in any low lit situation. Your not losing out with the front facing camera, it`s packing 1.9MP - 720p at 30fps. The HD VIDEO, 1080p at 30fps is great for catching those precious moments, not missing an loss of quality, or sound. The GOE-TAGGING makes it great for helping you remmeber where and who was in that special picture. The hardware: With the phone your getting an Exynos 4412 Quad core, 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9. You can put it under a great amount of pressure, wheather is be loading big wab pages, or playing your favourate HD game and you`ll not notice one second of lag or loss of quality. GPS: This is flawless, you`ll never get lost again, I even get 12-14 satelites IN DOORS. Size: The size seems to just fit exactly in your hands, it`s 4.8" display, just works. The buttons perfectly placed to where your fingers naturally are. The smooth curves, cups your hands, just like a fine woman. Storage: Along with it`s internal 16,32,64GB companied with it`s external microSD card, up to 64GB AND the FREE Dropbox 50GB, you`ll never be lost for storage. Battery life: I don`t care what anyone says, with all Android phones you`ll get around a 18-24hrs of battery life. Everyone has different uses to there phone, be it call/texts all day, or Youtube videos, or surfing, this is what you`ll get. Yes some people report to get 2-4 days out of the battery and that`s true, if you use it as a paper weight, but use it as a SMARTPHONE and you`ll get a good day out of it. The con`s. Case quality: It`s pure plastic, what else is there left to say, cheap, thin plastic. It feels cheap to hold, almost like it`ll break into a million pieces if you drop it. Good job there a tonne of cases for it. That`s it. Overall. What I love about this phone? The fact that you can put anything you want on it, be it: the latest greatest ROM, camera firmware (mods) from the NOTE 2, different modems to help improve your quality of GPS or call signal quality, themes are great to "PIMP" up your phone, you can even make your own, kernels are great for improving overall sound and performance, with your own liking. What I don`t love about it? The bloody case, PLASTIC.....AARRGGHHHH!!! Is it easy to use: Yes and you`ll learn ever more when you do a lot of reading. If you`re willing to put a lot of reading into how much you can do with this phone, you`ll be VERY happy, money well spent. Audio: 8/10 Video/Camera: 9/10 Build quality: 2/10 Limits to mods: ENDLESS!!!
